Heavy Fuels with High Vanadium Content

Xp³D-MG:  Fuel Enhancer for Bunker Fuel Oils

Xp³D-MG was formulated to treat heavy oils containing high quantities of Sulfur and Vanadium

CHARACTERISTICS AND BENEFITS

  • Reduces the low and high temperature corrosion problems generated during and after combustion.
  • Treats vanadium acidity, and avoids the formation of Vanadium Pentoxide
  • Improves heath transfer
  • Reduces maintenance and increases the life of the equipment
  • Largely reduces fumes and emissions

RECOMMENDED USES

Electric Generators/Power Plants
Fuel Storage Tanks
Agricultural Equipment
Ships and Boats
Trucks
Industrial plants

TREATMENT RATIO

The treatments dosage should be in proportion to the vanadium the fuel has. Xp³D dosage (1:4000) will be permanent; Xp³D-MG will vary according to the ppm of vanadium (1 ounce for each 6.25 ppm of vanadium). For example:

– If fuel contains 100 ppm of vanadium, the dosage that should be used to treat this specific fuel would be: 16 ounces (473 ml) of Xp³D-MG and 1 (one) gallon of Xp³D for each 4,000 gallons of fuel oil.

– If fuel contains 150 ppm of vanadium, the dosage that should be used to treat this specific fuel would be: 24 ounces (710 ml) of Xp³D-MG and 1 (one) gallon of Xp³D for each 4,000 gallons of fuel oil.

– If fuel contains 200 ppm of vanadium, the dosage that should be used to treat this specific fuel would be: 32 ounces (946 ml) of Xp³D-MG and 1 (one) gallon of Xp³D for each 4,000 gallons of fuel oil.

Process Recommended for the Mix:

a) Xp³D and Xp³D-MG should be premixed in a container tank. The mix should be constantly mixed (see exhibit). This will allow keeping the mix permanently in liquid form. The size and specifications of the mix should be defined by the hour volume of dosage required.

b) The mix should be pumped into the fuel oil feeding line in a 1 to 4000 proportions. A LMI or similar metering pump should be used.
